“At times, our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.” – Albert Schweitzer.
I am beginning to be more deliberate about noticing the areas of my life about which I can feel gratitude.
A little research turns up a lot of articles and books about gratitude. Some list techniques for becoming aware of causes of gratitude, and how to remember them.
Some of the practices that often show up are:
- Gratitude Journal
- Gratitude Jar
- Gratitude Rock
I just might play around with these.
However, the activity I will undertake first is to begin to send Thank You notes to people who have rekindled my light by offering an encouraging word, a helpful action, or a thoughtful gift.
Another quote from Albert Schweitzer:
“Train yourself never to put off that word or action for the expression of gratitude.”
